20th Children's
Interagency Training Conference
(MB76)
Sponsored by The Office of
Mental Health and Substance
Abuse Services in partnership
with the
Youth and Family
Training Institute
(formerly sponsored by the CASSP Institute)
IMPORTANT
INFORMATION ABOUT CHANGES TO THE CONFERENCE: “INVOLVING IS
SOLVING … THE CHANGING FOCUS OF CHILDREN’S BEHAVIORAL HEALTH”
In an effort to conserve resources in these
uncertain economic times, the 20th Children’s Interagency
Training Conference scheduled for Tuesday, May 5 through Friday,
May 8, 2009 (at the Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel)
will not be held as planned.
The staff at the Youth and Family Training Institute, based at
Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC, along with the
Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse
Services apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation has
caused.
Plans are underway to develop a new youth leadership/involvement
event in May 2009. This youth event is scheduled to coincide
with the National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day and
will focus on development of youth leadership in Pennsylvania.
It is our hope that an Interagency Children’s Training
Conference will be scheduled in 2010.
The Youth and Family Training Institute is developing on-line
training and education for people who work in the children’s
behavioral health field. Many of the proposals submitted for
presentation at the 20th Children’s Interagency Training
Conference are being considered for use in this on-line training
module. Educational opportunities may include reports on
innovative services as well as presentations that offer CEUs.
More information about online training will be available later.
Again, please accept our apology and perhaps we may see you at
the youth event in May 2009.
