Mental health organizations with information on geriatrics
Good Grief Center this Pittsburgh center provides grief-related resources.
AAGP the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry is a national organization of psychiatrists and other health professionals who focus on treating older adults. This site is devoted to consumer information and advocacy. Articles of interest on the site include caregiving, finding a mental health professional, and more information about late-life mental health problems such as depression and dementia.
NIMH The National Institute for Mental Health is a government institute which performs and pays for research on a variety of mental health issues.
Alzheimer's Association The official web site of the Alzheimer's Association contains information about Alzheimer's disease (also called dementia), resources for patients, family, and professionals; and local chapter information.
National Institute on Aging Together with the NIMH, the NIA provides the largest amount of government funding for aging research. This site contains health information, including research information about the work of scientists engaged in aging research. For the general public and health professionals, the site offers consumer-oriented information on a wide range of topics important to older people and their families as well as a description of the NIA's research program. Scientists can find detailed information on areas of research and funding opportunities.

National Council on the Aging NCOA is the nation's first association of organizations and professionals dedicated to promoting the dignity, self-determination, well being, and contributions of older persons. This site has consumer and professional information including fact sheets and guides, caregiver information, research information, and NCOA program descriptions such as Maturity Works Aging Workforce program.
American Association of Retired Persons the AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association dedicated to shaping and enriching the experience of aging for all Americans. Founded in 1958, it is the nation's largest organization of midlife and older persons, with more than 30 million members. The site contains a variety of consumer information, on-line versions of their print publications such as Modern Maturity, and more.
Elderweb a good research source for elder care and long-term care with legal, financial, medical and housing links.
American Geriatrics Society primarily an organization of health providers for the elderly, the AGS is working to increase involvement of community individuals. This site contains membership information as well as consumer information on a variety of health-related topics such as falls, over-the-counter medications, osteoporosis, and heart disease.
American Society on Aging for professionals who are interested in educational programs, publications and information and training resources, this site contains information about programs as well as access to its publications such as Aging Today.
